Creativity isn't always done with paper crafts. Today, I spent some time in my kitchen playing with this fun new treat. Now I should tell you all, it's not really new, but it is new to me!!!
Doesn't this look so yummy? it's called Monkey Bread. I know what you are thinking...what's the big deal with Monkey Bread? Well, for me, I'm always trying to find new snacks for my kids to eat after school. They always want all the same stuff like chips, cookies, and cheese and crackers....the usual. Anyway, today, I tried making this Monkey Bread and it was so simple. My kids actually loved it!!!
When I looked up on a recipe site for the recipe, there were so many different variations. I decided to use the recipe from the package of Pillsbury buttermilk biscuits package.
It turned out so good. I thought I'd share how to make it with you in case anyone has never made it before.
You will need:
12 inch bundt or tube pan
4 tubes of buttermilk biscuits (the small one with 10 in each package)
3/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup of butter or margarine.
Preheat oven to 350. Spray bundt pan with cooking spray.
1. In a 1 gallon Zippered Plastic bag pour sugar and cinnamon.
2. Cut the biscuits into quarters and throw into cinnamon and sugar bag. Shake until each piece is totally coated. Place into prepared bundt pan.
3. Melt butter and then mix with brown sugar. Pour over the biscuits until fully covered.
4. Cook in the oven at 350 for about 40 - 45 minutes or until golden brown.
Let sit for 5 minutes then let cool on a plate. Serve warm.
This is a quick and easy treat that your kids will love. This is also great for a snack around the holidays. It's just an all around good treat and your kids might want to help make it even!!!
